L’IDEM (The Institute of Design and Multimedia in English) is one of the France’s leading centres for creative arts education, with a reputation based around the achievements of its graduates and the creative energy of its current staff and students. For a full prospectus: www.lidem.eu.

The Institute brings a broad range of creative activities together in two modern campuses, -‐ one in Barcelona and one in Perpignan, near the French border with Spain. This international approach allows the exchange of ideas and techniques across disciplines, acting as a huge workshop of thinking and making, underpinned by a strong research base and exceptional technical resources. After a 1 year multi-‐discipline Foundation Course, students focus on a practice based undergraduate course in one of 3 program areas : 2D-3D Animation, Visual Communication, Audio Visual Production.

L’Idem provides training programs aimed to enhance the social inclusion of youngsters and adults by : strengthening professional and relational competences to be active and develop opportunities in the labour market, and enhancing technical cross-competences.
The courses held by L’Idem are supervised by a professional and highly qualified teaching staff, allowing our students and learners to be provided with learning materials related to the labour market’s updates and needs.
Our sister school in Barcelona emphasises even more the international ambition we wish to aspire to. L’Idem is also one of the founding members of the Pole Action Media, a professional cluster composed of 20 international companies specialized in Audio-visual technologies, Event Management, and Performing Arts.

This course of study is dedicated to passionate students looking for a fascinating professional career. They will become Designer, Producer, Character Designer, Illustrator, Story Boarder, 2D/3D Animator, Modeler, Game Designer, Matte Painter, Layout Man, FX Producer…
Working as a 2D / 3D Animation Designer involves being part of a dynamic sector at the forefront of progress. Graphic Animation has evolved considerably from advertising to cinema, and has spread into new fields in the new media.

Furthermore, L’IDEM takes part in international events like the International Animation Festival of Annecy, and the International Festival for the Mediterranean Cinema in Montpellier.
L’IDEM is partner of the Mostra International of Animation in Barcelona, of the Cinema Confrontation Festival in Perpignan and co-organizer of the numerical campus.
L’Idem also develops innovative projects thanks to the professional network of its Audio-visual cluster (Pole Action Media), which regularly promotes mobility projects towards professionals in this sector.
The main goal is to foster the development of a vocational sector in an international and inter-cultural logic and then meet the requirements of international competitiveness.
It is also to facilitate the implementation of joint projects between members of the cluster, specialised training centres in France and Europe, in order to enhance the skill level of the least qualified people, develop recognition of qualifications across borders, and thus facilitate access to employment.
